Exodus
Acrylic Paint on canvas
18 x 24

For my final project, I plan to create a painting on an 18 x 24-inch canvas using acrylic paint. For my project, I plan to paint a full-body portrait of a woman, kneeling with a gun in her hands. She will be wearing an aegean blue tank top with black jeans and black combat boots. For accessories, she will either wear a brown or black harness around her legs as well as bones on her arms for armor. On her head will be a raccoon hat with a tail that hangs by the side of her head. Her pose will be crouching with a gun held in her hands and her head tilted to the side. For the background, I plan to have her against a wall in a bunker with her looking to the right of an open door. The title for this piece will be called ‘Exodus’, signifying that the world the character lives in faces conflict. Humanity must coexist with frightening mutants, fight gang organizations and survive in dangerous habitats where nature almost feels alive. My idea is inspired by my passion for video games and the character designs in games. I always have found it fascinating to design my personal character as there are no limitations to art where you can express your uniqueness. Art provides me with a creative outlet to express my creativity and thoughts on paper where I’m able to create pieces to appease myself or others. I hope that my painting piques the interest of viewers so that when they look at it, they start to create their own interpretation of this woman's life and her surroundings. After all, art is all about self-interpretation where there is no one meaning to a piece of art.
